The Senators are very likely to win. They are fierce. Fast, strong, at times mean and Emery is very good between the pipes. They took it to a very good Penguins team in the first round. They have so much more focus this year. Watch out if your team is playing the in the next round.

Saying that Ottawa will have a 'meltdown' just because of their recent track record is very ignorant. It's like the saying since the leafs haven't won a cup in 40 years, means they will never ever win again... ignorant no? Ottawa's team is evolved quite a bit in the past few seasons, and if they did face the leafs in the post season this year, they would have destroyed them. The leafs don't have much going for them recently, while Ottawa's depth is scary. I think Ottawa has a good a chance as any other team that still remains. I think they are evenly matched by Buffalo, and that would make one hell of a conference final. Rangers I find they are just like a more experienced penguins team, high flying and full of natural goal scorers, and they're giving the sabres a run for their money. So they too would make a fun conference final. Sharks/Redwings/Anaheim... all of these teams are lethal, but since I never get to watch them all that often, I can't really comment on how well they play.

Now that the Pens are gone I can say that yeah Ottawa has a decent chance to get there. Espically if other teams DON'T PLAY THE PHYSICAL GAME(WHAT WERE THE PENS DOING?). Now that that is off my chest. I think Calgary will be knocked out by Detroit and that Dallas may just make it one team left. Can Ottawa beat the Devils? Yeah I'm assuming they will be the one to move on. I think that Ottawa can beat the Sabres if that turns out to be the Confrence Finals. So who comes from the West? For the record I am pushing Ottawa on just to answer if one CAN. After all one would have to GET there first. Flames clearly couldn't. The 'Nucks is a hard one, espically with the ways things are going. So the best chance to me is Ottawa, and if they can get there I think they still lose. Play the physical game and you get worn down yourself. So I'm thinking that it won't happen this year.

PS it is people like flamesfan that get Americans cheering AGAINST the Canadian teams. It is people like that that got me to cheer on the 'Canes last year, because people like that decided the series was REALLY the U.S. vs Canada.

The only Canadian team with a shot at winning the Cup this year is Vancouver, and that's if they get through Dallas.

Ottawa gets the Devils in round two, so their fate is sealed right there.

Calgary won't win two in a row against Detroit, let alone another 12 games after that.

Most likely not this year.
The playoffs started with only 3 canadian teams.
Calgary, Ottawa, and Vancouver.
After the first round, i only think the team thats already won their series (Ottawa) will survive.
I don't think Calgary can beat Detroit, Detroit has to much power for a not so great Flames team.
Dallas has all the momentum going into game 7, and i think they'll close it out.
And Ottawa doesnt have enough Skill to beat some of the harder teams.
so not this year

I sure hope so Go Sens and Canucks! I hate how some Americans are so disrespectful towards Canadian teams when "stars" of some teams like the Penguins (Crosby) are from Canada. gees

Not likely. I doubt Calgary will be able to goon their way to the finals. Vancouver has no scoring punch after their first line. That leaves Ottawa as your best chance. I wouldn't count them out, but it remains to be seen whether they can keep the puck out of their net against these other teams with better depth AND defense than Pittsburgh. So I wouldn't say "NO, a Canadian team won't win." But the odds are stacked against it.

It would be nice but I just don't see it happening. Vancouver and Ottawa just aren't the best in their conferences and would both have difficult paths to the finals. I just don't see it happening this year.
