I have to do a demonstration speech for my high school public speaking class, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I was planning on a quick idea with food...or maybe a craft. But either way, it can't use a lot of materials or ingrediants, or take longer than 30 minutes; therefore, it must not need an oven or anything.

I did this once with ingredients for a salad. Just a little slicing and dicing and walla. Everyone got a taste afterward and I got an A.

I've had to do a demonstration speech before, and I went with cooking. I made a lemonade pie.... it didn't require any baking just mixing ingredients....make sure you pick something that has a nice presentation at the end. I'm pretty sure the Lemonade pie took like 20 mins to make...and then you can let everyone try it at the end...everyone loves food.

How about do a quick napkin ring...something with sticky felt around a cardboard tube, a cute little decoration and glue...then show them how to do a proper table setting...charger, plates, bowl, glasses, all the silverware in the right order, a cloth napkin and napkin ring. Make it a holiday theme...Thanksgiving or Christmas. You can pass out a sketch of the table setting with labels for extra impact.
