I keep seeing the commericals even though Sonic is not in Michigan. (and no i am not getting my channels from anothor city or canada)

That drives me nuts, too. It looks good. I guess they want us to drive to Ohio or Indiana.

I'll bet a lot of people in Michigan travel to areas that do have Sonic.Let's say you're driving from Detroit to Cleveland and pull off the turnpike for a quick bite.You may choose to go to Sonic in Ohio because it's something different,and you saw an ad for it,so you have an idea of what they offer. Mission accomplished for the Sonic people!Multiply you times a thousand other people equals good marketing strategy.

We used to see commercials for Target in Louisiana long before there were any Targets here; now there are Targets everywhere here. Same thing with Kohl's. Maybe Sonic is planning to expand into your area and wants to start advertising ahead of time so that when they open in your area you'll know about it and want to go there. BTW, I love Sonic, I hope y'all get one soon. They have all kinds of great drinks and their tater tots are awesome. Their burgers aren't the greatest, though; I like their coney dogs.

I hate that!! They are on here in Minnesota! And Sonic is soooooo good, too. At least they're only one state away from you.

thats weird... maybe its just a national thing. We have commercials for sonic too, but there are none in chicago (that i have ever seen)

They are nationally aired commercials. When I lived in Maine and Vermont I used to get those commercials too and it angered me cause there weren't any restaurants in the states. I moved down to Georgia and they are everywhere! (and the slushies and ice cream treats are awesome)

We get them too and I live in Canada. I know we get the commercials because we have cable and get stations from various cities.

I know what you mean. I hate seeing those yummy breakfast dishes on the IHOP commercials when there isn't one anywhere near.
