So obviously I don't want to spend the $1 bills, as I'm saving them. But, $1 bills take up too much room and thats why I'd like to exchange them for 20s or something. Where can I do this?

So I just walk into the bank with my money and ask to exchange it?

Never too early to get a bank account! :)
Another option would be to go to a business and see if they want to exchange some for you -- like on a weekend when the banks are closed. Restaurants or other cash-intensive businesses might be inclined to swap your dough.
I had a funny thought while thinking about the answer to this question... you could always go to a strip club parking lot and make a few deals with some of the customers on their way in! :) Just kidding!!!
Finally, where are you getting all these $1s from? Are you a waitress? If so, just cash them in to your boss before you leave your shift. Pretty common occurence.

Yes. Go to the bank, and they will exchange the bills for you.
Why would you keep all of your savings with you instead of in an account earning interest?

doesn't matter if you don't have an account, they should have no problem changing them in....in fact i know bank of america now has a student account for people 16 and 17 to where your parents don't need to be with you, you could deposit it to a savings and start earning some interest on it, why not right!?

Your bank or credit union would be the obvious answer. If for some reason this is not possible, most businesses that deal with a large number of customers, ie., service stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, etc., will give you a twenty or fifty for an equal number of ones.

The bank, where else. They need small bills. For anything larger than a hundred, you will have to find a collector, banks don't have them--I've tried.
