I've read most of Rankin's work, the Inspector Rebus novels anyway, but not the Jack Harvey ones (yet).

And same for Todd; Ive read most of the Rutledge Series.
They're both excellent crime fiction writers, but, on the whole, I prefer Rankin.

I love Todd's Ian Rutledge books. I have always liked those kind of English mysteries that take place in peaceful, out of the way places, and I think Rutledge is a great detective. One of the things I like best about him is his dialogue with Hamish.

I have not read anything by Ian Rankin, but you can bet I will be checking him out!
