Take Britain, possibly America's closest ally.
We have differences over Guantanamo Bay,
Genetically modified crops,
an extradition treaty or two,
Lack of cooperation with coroner's courts in UK,
The US stance on the Kyoto treaty,
Industrial protectionism...

Nothing to go to war over.
