They mean that life passes by quickly, so it feels like it's short. I didn't understand why people said that either, until I became a Mom, and in an instant, my son suffered respiratory death within minutes of beginning his life, and then I understood. His life was so short. No one knows when our time to leave will come. We hope it will be a long time and we'll all live to be 110 years old...but the reality is that most of us will not live that long, so we have to make the most of what we have now and not take anything or anyone for granted.

My oldest kid is 29. It seems like yesterday that he was born. When you get older, you'll understand.
What can I possibly do that would last longer. Be a popular artist or writer, you would be remembered for ?? who know's. You could be a historical figure, either political or military. You have probably studied some of these figures in school history classes.
Have kids who have kids who have kids, you get the picture. It carries the family history.
What you do with your time will answer the question of what YOU can do in so short of time to be remembered forever.

yes that is a good question because why it is written in the bible that man lived for almost hundred years or more but why they are saying our life is to short? beacause as our time today the possible a human can live is 70yrs old it is because of our environment. Everywhere you go you may catch a smoke maybe from a cigarrette or from cars and pullotion that also affect our life and make it shorter. and also if you are drinking alcohol and smoking it may shorten your life also..... but all of that is all depended in you if you take care of your self I know you live longer .......

Generations can carry things out and continue trying to do the same thing.
That can be longer than life in this situation, because it gets passed on.
I do not know why people say life is short, though.

By the time you figure out how to enjoy it, what's truly important, your old, and time is running out. It is sort of like the lyrics "if I only then (when I was younger) what I know now, when I was younger, when I was stronger." You feel like a fool at times, wishing to do the impossible, turn back the hands of time. Life is short, the years are few, enjoy.

People say that coz they always find something more to do!
Lets face it theres only 24 hrs in a day and people say that is to short! I go by this motto:
Today is the first day of the rest of your life!

Life goes by fast... you are thinking inside the box... when you grow up and not as immature.. maybe then you will learn to value life and be the one saying also "life is so short" until then you will not understand... and just keep thinking the way you are...

Funny . . .
It's all in the perception.
The younger we are (or the more unpleasant the task) the slower time seems to pass. As we age, the sense of time passing quickens, until we're constantly amazed at our own age and how we look, and how it came upon us so 'quickly'.
And we finally come to understand the proverb, "youth is wasted on the young", and the German one, "we grow too soon old and too late smart."

We say it because we are never promised one more moment on this blessed Earth. Life is not the longest for everyone. Not everyone dies at an old age.(unfortunately)

Because, as we grow older we learn lessons that we could have used in the past. . Many forget to enjoy life and take the many messages/lessons we receive daily and use them as our gifts in life.. Plain and simple people do not appreciate what the great gift they have..
