I usually submit a resume coverletter, even when one is not requested. But for this position I'm applying for I have not idea how to word the coverletter, and one wasn't even requested. I'm tempted to just fax my resume along with a fax coversheet.

Most employers receive a large amount of resumes and most of the times a cover letter is the only thing that is going to get your resume noticed. I would suggest that you provide a cover letter explaining why you feel you would be a great fit for this position and compare that to your experience from your resume.

I definitely think it's worth taking the time and trouble to write a cover letter. Make sure to address it to the recruiter by name (call to find out the name if you don't know it already.)

By doing this you'll avoid giving the impression that you're sending your application as part of a 'mass mailing' campaign and that you're genuinely interested in this particular job.

Your letter doesn't have to be more than three or four short paragraphs. But if you say something to show that you've researched the position and explain why you think you'd be a 'good fit', it may encourage the recruiter to read your resume and help them to remember you. This could be important if they get a large number of applications.

Good luck with your application! There's more info on good cover letter writing at the site below:

I think you should submit a cover letter saying why you want the job and a resume. It makes the employer see all the good that you have to offer for the job.

Cove letters are nice and all they need to be is some reason why you think the job is something that you want or would love to have. Also, you could list some of your experience that would be good for that position.
Of course you would still send your resume with it.
GOOD LUCK!

Even if a cover letter isn't requested, I would include it. Search the Internet for samples of good cover letters. It won't be very difficult to find one.

cover letters always say to the employer that u are putting in effort to try and personalize your application, so they're very important. there are a lot of template cover letters on the internet that you can basically copy n paste if you don't want to come up with one on your own
