tanh(x) = [e^x - e^(-x)] / [e^x + e^(-x)]

For the problem at hand we have
tanh(-x) = [e^(-x) - e^(- -x)] / [e^(-x) + e^(- -x)]
= [e^(-x) - e^x] / [e^(-x) + e^x]
= - [e^x - e^(-x)] / [e^x + e^(-x)] = - tanh(x)

I did hyperbolics a few months ago so I am alitte rusty but I do believe that the equation for tanh(x)= e^x - e^-x/ e^x + e^-x correct? So if you put any negative number inside of that equation, you will get a negative solution. So if you have to prove that equation, draw a graph (which should be in your book or just search tanh (X)) and then put in a negative number.
