I like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and ZZ Top. What else can you suggest?

Thinking about the three bands you've mentioned... The Rolling Stones and ZZ Top makes me think you like a little blues in your rock 'n' roll, and The Beatles makes me think you like good melodies.

Two bands that are heavily blues-based but without compromising on melody are Lynard Skynard and The Allman Bros. Band. Check out their early stuff from the 70s and see what you think. They are both Southern Rock bands, and you mentioned two British bands and a group from Texas, so hopefully my suggestions aren't too much of a musical stretch.
