The vertical one on the side (that has the star pattern in the middle) is the altitude. The flat horizontal one that the mount rests on at the top of the tripod is the azimuth.

In altaz mode, then the azimuth buttons would be the right and left arrows and the altitude buttons would be the up and down buttons. Or, more simply, the up and down arrow buttons move the telescope up and down, and the right and left arrow buttons move the telescope right and left. But the computer has other uses for those buttons, so the arrow buttons have different functions depending on what mode you are in.

I assume you got a manual with it. If so, it tells you what you need to know. If not, here it is on line. Be warned though, it is a 15GB pdf file!

The two knobs, one on the fork, controls declination (altitude ) and the knob on the base where the movable setting circle is (azimuth) is for Right Ascension.

Azimuth is back and forth. The up and down one is elevation.
