what up with the Japanese and nudity? they have it on tv, in commercials, on game shows, and everywhere. its mind buggling! what is 'run off the mill' for the Japanese, will be considered a crime in the uk.
when i say 'nudity and sexually explicit stuff', i mean it.
can someone who understands, explain the japanese fixation on nudity? the west is wild, but not that wild.

I know what you mean. Their people are so obsessed with nudity and huge boobs. It's all over their manga/anime and their various variety shows. Most people would think that the japanese are reserved/conservative and polite people who suppress their real thoughts and feelings. I guess you see their true colours show in their manga and anime. It's very sick.

According to a friend of mine who knows the culture what appears to be nudity is actually well-designed, body conforming leotards, or something like it!

Here in our FCC controlled country we don't get to see what people really want to see.. There are many countries that show alot more skin on TV then the U.S. Not all of them but alot.

they don't have the Judaeo-Christian hang ups about it that have taken hold in the West.
think of the bible when adam & eve were naked and covered their nudity with leaves, i don't think there are any comparables to that in Japanese buddhism or Shinto.

In the US we don't show nipples, or any genitalia at all (on broadcast channels). I have seen shows from the UK where a woman might be topless. The US actually has much more strict rules than you guys do.
