I really think these type of men benefit women a lot by protecting them, providing women love, and clearly defining what is expected of them. They also provide for women someone to look up to and turn to and provide a positive male authority figure in their life.

Sandstorm, you almost scared me for a moment. I thought you might be getting soft until I read the explanation of your question! LOL

Yes, many women like a man that gives structure and protection to their lives.

Back when men were men....

I don't want a chauvinistic man but I don't want someone who's a sissy and can't stand up to me when I'm in the wrong either. Most men nowadays let women walk all over them and I find that disgusting. I grew up in a church that was small and all the women dominated the men. Thankfully, I've seen where that leads and have chosen to steer clear.

Do I want a chauvinistic man that's going to pinch my butt when I walk by? No I don't. Do I want a man that tells sexist jokes or believes a women should be barefoot and pregnant? Oh heck no! I want a man that respects me and expects respect in return. Oh and I already have that man. :)

ok so you are saying that we- women- need to have our role in a relationship defined? You are out of your flippin' mind!!!! I do not need a man telling me what I can or cannot do. Been there done that and still use the t-shirt for shooting practice. Women do not need to be controlled. We need to be respected.
Men who are chauvanistic and sexist are controlling (insert bad words here). In a relationship, its 50/50. We don't need this type of person. I don't need someone to protect me because I am his property, I don't need his twisted type of love and I sure as heck don't need him as a male authority figure.
Grrr ok now I am irritated, will respond more later.

Put it this way I wouldn't want no wimp, does that answer your question; meaning I would want someone there who's strong.
You have to understand I am extremely strong myself; something people don't understand; especially being an obedient woman. We are not weak you know. There comes a time we have to take care of ourselves and I can rise to the occassion very well. I need a strong man when I can't go on any more and need a break is all.

Actually they prefer a guy who abuses them and cheats on them. That's why begining in their school years they won't date nerds even though nerds will be there for them always. They date the "bad boys" and end up getting hurt a lot. So then when they are loose and ready to stop giving it out like free samples they find the nerds.

"They also provide for women someone to look up to and turn to and provide a positive male authority figure in their life."

So a woman should purposely date someone who is a substitute for her dad?

That's sick.

I'm not going to choose which one I like because it will offend both men and women, I reserve my opinion.

It also provides a woman to blow out her flame and not allow her to think for herself.
