Its a shame when people feel the need to swear in ordinary chat - English is one of the most eloquent and clear languages with a considerable number of alternative adjectives to enhance our conversations.

I always feel swearing gives people the impression that the user is less intelligent than they probably are.

I did when I was under a lot of stress. I try not to, and I won't do it in front of children even though I've heard little kids on the street swearing like sailors (no offense intended to sailors, just an expression). You can stop if you want to. My man does a thing almost as bad as "Flanders" on the Simpsons. Instead of bullsh*t he'll say beandip. He started this when his sister took in foster kids & he didn't want to swear in front of them.

I used to swear, not excessively but more than enough. I am now a mother and I dont any more. I dont want my son to swear before his time (no doubt he will among his friends soon enough). I feel better for not swearing too

I find myself swearing without even realizing it when I'm with other people who swear a lot. I think its quite lame though.

Not as much as I used to. I could've put Dennis Leary to shame. I used to drop F-bombs every time I was pissed, which was several times a day, but now I have kids, so I have to watch the language. I still have the habit of saying other curses, and sometimes I just string together a bunch of four letter words when I'm having a bad day, but I say them to myself or in front of other (cursing) adults.

No, I don't want to stop cursing. I think I've tamed it down enough for me, but it's a part of me, and I don't like censoring myself unless I'm at work or in public. My cursing is at home by myself.

No, I never swear. Well, rarely. The last time I did was when these two women tried to abuse my daughter. ...... I'm a man and if they'd of been two men then one would have had a broken knose [headbut] and the other would have had a few smart slaps around his head somewhere. As it was I had to get my wife, mother and sister to deal with them.........................................

I know it's irrational to fight, but if they start messing with your child then they envoke Very primal feelings and you're no longer this wonderful man but instead you're almost animal.
