A plant that is used for medicine is typically (in the U.S.) called an HERB. There are thousands of them.
Echinacea (also called Purple Coneflower) root is used to boost the immune system and help one to get over colds. The liquid extract can be used on cuts and sores to speed healing.
The leaves of the Red Raspberry plant are dried and made into tea for use during pregnancy. It is a good source of minerals and is said to help tone the uterus, making for a healthy delivery.
There is a beautiful plant called Foxglove whose leaves are used to make Digitalis, a heart medicine to slow the rate at which the heart beats. It is taken only under medical supervision because it can be toxic if not used properly.

Aloe vera is used for skin conditions. Cannabis has many uses, helps with severe nausea, pain, sleeping problems, muscle spasms. Black Cohosh helps with hormonal imbalance during menopause, night sweats, hot flashes. There are thousands of plants that are used as medicine, many can be very dangerous if not used proplerly. You should always tell your medical doctor about any herbs or alternative medicines that you take, even over the counter meds can be dangerous if not taken as directed or when they are mixed with other meds, they can make a toxic situation.

The plant for medicines are herbs that's why there's herbalists. Herbalists use the opposite to cure ailments
Homeopaths use the like gets rid of like ( this is not a good way in my opinion.. that's symptom healing not true healing) Would you burn yourself to get rid of a burn? Would you eat something hot to get rid of something hot? I bet not!
Allapathy conventional methods also use this like gets rid of like sympton healing not true healing. The only way to cure someone is the opposite gets rid of opposite. Naturopaths they say whatever works they do herbs first but they tend to use the pill form first. Herbalists recommend the tea form first! The pill form only if the tea form doesn't work for you!
The best herbal plant happens to be the most hated plant
The Dandelion.. Actually doctors started calling it a weed cause they know it heals pretty much anything.. It is even good to help control Fibromylagia.. use it along with scullcap for it! I know I have it! there's no real cure known for it yet!
