I need information on what pioneer mothers did. Around 1820. Up north in Indiana. Around South Bend. I need like what they did and made. And some websites.

cooked. cleaned. took care of the kids. took care of the animals. took care of the property. farmed. you name it. everything moms do today only worse, more dangerous and with no modern conveniences. there's a book called Pioneer Women. i'd try books first.

Totally different conditions than out west. Homes were much closer together and you had all those pesky trees Indians could hide behind.

For illustrations on daily life, I recommend checking out a book called FRONTIER LIVING by Edwin Tunis and also COLONIAL LIVING by the same author.

Fiction book: BETTY ZANE by Zane Grey. It's the Ohio River valley, but around the same era.
