Absolutely, I said i would never spank my child as she spanked me one day but the lil mother had a tantrum in public and i don't play that so i had to tap his butt right there on the spot immediately. Then i said oh you wanna cry let me give you something to cry for lol. he said no ma i don't want to cry! I'm like you sure now cause i could help you, That's what my mom used to say and it worked great i shut the heck up and so does my son lol.

I'm not yet a mother, but I'm an adult and I realize I sometimes act like my father, doing or saying the things that I realize that it offends people, My parents were very severe and strict and thinking about having a child...makes me feel a bit perfectionist and want him to be a perfect child. I realize that is tough as children have their own personality and I'm sure I'm gonna have some communication problems with my child because I'm too possessive and I try to organize people's lives to their best, but I really hope that God will bless me with a good child that will understand that if I want smth is only to make sure he will become a happy and successful person.

No! I made a conscious effort never to be like my parents and am quite successful at it! Now that my kids are grown and can decide for themselves, they don't have much to do with their grandparents. Neither were fit to be emulated.

I'm turning into my mother and getting her same weird sense of humour and going all vague and whimsical on people.

But she's turning into me and getting much more relaxed and sweet, so it all works out one way or another.

I think parents turn into their kids just as much as the other way.

I found that our parents DO in fact become our children in most cases.....In reply to the second query...I HAVE always kept my word......to my parents and my children...my parents now are both gone, but I was there until the end.....My children are grown..and they studied the ETHICS and ECONOMICS I recommended...BOTH are doing quite well and now it IS all about me....for a while anyway.....
Thanks

No. Contrary to popular belief I would never turn my child into a lab rat with the experimental drugs just because I don't wanna raise him/ her.

Before I divorced my ex. I claimed I would not raise his sons to be like him, as he was turning into his own father. We have all grown up. Today he and I are jointly dealing with one of our son's issues. I actually thanked my ex for not being his own dad in dealing with this one.....go figure....

Nope, and I try my hardest not to. If I was to become like one of my parents I hope it is the good qualities that my dad taught me.
