Yep.
As you said, they are not here legally, that's enough reason for deportation.
Ignorance of the law, has never been a justification for breaking the law.
If they had applied legally, they wouldn't have been given someone Else's SS number.
But when you try buying fake id, you have to assume that the id is not valid and using it you are committing fraud.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse per the law. I don't know the consequences but it sounds like a mistake rather than an actual crime. I doubt jail or deportation is an option but I really don't know. I don't quite understand where she applied for a SS card and thinks it will belong to someone else. Am I reading this right?

if she is illegal it would be a reason to have her deported but i know many people who use fake numbers and nothing happens to them as long as they don't try to make money off of it like using it for work i just read an article that said that all the SSA can do is send a letter to the employer saying that the SS number doesn't match but if the number belongs to someone else that would be fraud,

ROFL... they didn't know that they were committing fraud when they used an identification number that they KNEW didn't belong to them?
But to answer your question, just tell them to not sweat it. The 2 most privileged classes in America are billionaires and hispanic illegal-immigrants. They'll give him a slap on the wrist.

why in the world would she be given someone else's social? sounds like she should report whomever gave her the wrong social. if you are saying that they give out the socials of people who have died, that might just be the way they do it and nothing to worry about it. i really don't know what exactly you are talking about.

Well, use the full healthcare! I'm sure it's better coverage than the Medicare.
