A stream of photons moving at a wavelength. The wavelength determines the color of the ray. The visible spectrum is between 400 and 700 nanometers, with blue at the shorter end and red at the long end. White light like sunlight is pretty much a mix of all visible light and some UV (ultraviolet) light and infrared light that you can't see.
