Molarity = number of moles/volume in litres

Number of moles= Molarity* volume in litres= 0.2*50/1000= 0.01moles

Mass of sodium hydroxide = molar mass* number of moles= 40*0.01= 0.4 grammes.

Molecular mass of NaOH = 40

=> for 1000 ml 0.2NaOH we need 0.2*40 grams
= 8 grams

hence for 50 ml we need (50/1000) * 8 = 0.4 grams
