This seems to happen while using the internet, sometimes when playing online games, but it can also happen during routine things like checking emails. There is no warning like a blue screen, it just happens. I have turned off the automatic restart option in windows, but the problem is stil happening. And I can't check if the computer has a virus, because Norton anti-virus is having trouble completing a full scan at the moment, it starts but does not finish!

nian3555 and waiching liu have sent out a virus to Yahoo Answers users, and it sounds like you were one of the recipients. Report them to Yahoo, and they should provide you with the disc sweep software to clean your hard drive.

Sounds like you have a hardware problem or driver issue. This problem can happen often if your memory goes bad, your motherboard goes bad or a hardware driver is corrupt or conflicting. It could also occur if your Windows gets corrupt. This type of problem is hard to troubleshoot without detailed information or the ability to look at system logs and such. You could purchase a new harddrive and do a clean install of Windows on it and see if it will be stable with minimal software. If you still have issues, then I would advance onto swapping out memory...

open your pc case up (making sure you have switched it all off first), get the hose of the vacuum cleaner, and vacuum all the dust out, including all the fans and vents. Be careful not to damage anything, and touch a radiator or something that will conduct any static electric away before you put your hands inside (static electric can damage the components inside the case).

If it's still doing it after this, in my experience it's a dodgy power supply. Not sure how you can tell apart from buying a new one (which you can get for around £20), or if you're not confident enough to try it, take it to PCWorld....

I would say it's due to heat. It could just be the weather or if you're pc is placed in a warm room.

Alternatively it could be that there is dust inside you're pc. Open it up, look under the fans. Clean all that area up. Cleaning the shell wont do anything, clean the fans themselves & the components around it.

Good luck.

Sounds as if you have a virus, all you can do is reinstall the OS from the cd which came with the computer or take it to a computer shop to do this.

Ur important OS files have been corrupted. So, re-install the entire O\S after a proper format or else the problem persists.
