As a hardcore Republican woman, I can tell you that I and most of my kind -- there's a 'fringe' in every demographic -- do NOT believe that there is a subversive political force within the US trying to destroy America.
What there IS and what I SEE is there is a certain group of people, a fringe of the far left who have long money and loud voices, who want to ban or do away with any and all restrictions to freedom, period. To their way of thinking, any restriction on freedom is not freedom at all.
For instance, the other day the Supreme Court upheld the ban on partial birth abortion. The far left and the pro-choice camp went berzerk. Why? Because as their argument goes, any ban on abortion is one step closer to making it illegal. Really? It's been legal for more than 30 years, but it's only since Bill Clinton was in office (not saying Bill had anything to do with it at all, just establishing timeline) that partial birth abortion got started. Wasn't it in practice a long time ago? No. When Bush, Sr. was in office, abortion was legal, but there was a limitation on when the procedure could be done; only up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. But when Bill came in, that was changed from three months to "late term abortions," all the way up to, "Gee, I'm in labor and I've been in labor for 12 hours now. Any time now I'm going to have this baby -- oh, I mean "mass of cells," and I just don't know if I want to keep it. Time to push? Push, push, push, the baby's head is delivered -- you know, I've decided I don't want to deal with this after today. Kill him, please."
Now that's just an example, but perhaps you can see why some people think that there are those who are out to destroy America. It's not the abortion issue in and of itself, it is the falling away of any sensible restriction that makes the difference.

Not just R's, and it's no longer a suspicion, for most intelligent US patriotic citizens have been well aware of the fact that there is without a doubt an enemy within our corruptament with an agenda to establish the New World Order, of which will result in total global chaos as people from all nations will be forced to live under the communist dictatorship of a massive world wide government, and it's a fact that most of the political elitists that have taken an active role in supporting this insane concept have D's following their last names... thus believe what you will, but facts are facts and only fools can be fooled...

We do think that?
You apparently listen to Hannity and Limbaugh more than most conservatives do.
We do however believe that their are progressive liberal forces that want to destroy traditional America, The America most of us grew up with and love. Hoping to make her a socialised welfare state like Cuba, Venezuela or North Korea.

I don't know if it's JUST the republican party. Seems more & more American's are concerned about this problem which increasingly is being recognized as the democratic republican party. Play it safe & vote for the Libertarian party. More & more often I hear people saying..."what's the differance between the demo's/repubbies"? I mean the motto for officials in the democratic republican party is..."you scratch my back & I'll scratch yours"!!! Check out the Libertarian party & don't be duped by the democratic republican party's "good guy/bad guy routine" any more.

There certainly is, and they're called Secular Progressive Liberals. It's no secret that SPLs hate George Bush more than they love America, they prove it every day. Hannity and limbaugh are simply echoing what a lot of us know to be the truth; SPLs would rather see the USA reduced in stature because they believe in world government and that just doesn't jibe with the freedoms we have.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I don't think they are consciously out to destroy the U.S., but the political philosophy of the left will do exactly that. Republicans are not any better to me, just want to remove different rights.

Good point.
The comparison to an X-Files episode is surreal. I find the connection you subtly make between free thinking liberals, and Fox Mulder. And his desire to get to the truth, right on the money. Where as Scully's desire to ignore the truth is right on target with the conservative philosophy.
The truth is out there.....

There is something that is subversive in this country and it is called lack of morals, lack of self responsibility, lack of ethics. I blame it on secularism. Are you going to sit there and tell me that high unwed teenage pregnancies, hate music, laws that protect criminals but not victims, illiteracy, and celebration of the gay movement are the fault of a Christian movement, then I think you are fooling yourself. There is no politics behind this movement. Responsible people see who is creating this no matter what their political affiliation is. And yes, left wing liberals are the root of it.

I am not a Republican, I am an Independent but I do believe that there are people who seek to destroy our country from within by creating such division and hate.
