Did the sheer weakness of Algae the Green Guy and The Moron from Massachusetts ever get under your skin - just a little?

Neither are absolutely true. Believe me, it took a well-funded, well-coordinated effort to win reelection against Sen. Kerry. Mr. Bush was selected president in 2000 by smartly using whatever means afforded by the system. Some may quarrel with it being fair-and-square, but it's a moot point. Some may also argue that Vice President Nixon had the election of 1960 stolen from him. That also is a moot point.

Most who have a problem with the Bush presidency are bothered more by what has happened during this administration then how it came to power.

An election process that rigorously excludes all but two parties is no more "fair and square" than one that excludes all but one.

The results aren't different, either.
