Nancy Pelosi’s recent trip to Syria represents more than a partisan jab at the Bush Administration and its policies. It goes to the very heart of the constitutional foundation of our republic!

While Harry Reid is waving the Constitution in our faces – citing the independent power of the legislative branch of government – he conveniently diminishes the constitutional authority of the Presidency with his statement that the Democrats represent the people, while the President DOES NOT!

The Democrats, and particularly Pelosi and Reid, have apparently forgotten Constitution 101. The power to set Foreign Policy resides ONLY in the Presidency. As long as George Bush holds the office, HIS policy IS the Foreign Policy of the United States.

For that matter, the power to determine the Military’s mission and it’s strategies reside with the Commander in Chief – which role is also held solely by Mr. Bush.

Now if your going to answer please justify your response, not just your stupid with no backing, Remember we have never been a democracy (thank god) we are a republic. I would be very afraid if some of the people that left the corny 1 line responses actually had a say in our country.

It's not just you. It has always been that way, moreso now. Democrats just want votes, so they will sacrifice all, even the safety of the country, to get them.

I guess it's rather how Bill Clinton felt in 1995 when he said "The President is still relevant here."

But I do agree with you that the Democrats are trying to diminish the Executive Branch of the United States. The President has, and always will be the most important political figure.

It's not just you, it does seem that a vote for Democrats is a vote for terrorism. Especially with the defeatist Harry Reid yelling "the war is lost" a few days ago.

No.

The president and congress need to COOPERATE in order for things to go smooth. The president can make any decision he likes. But when he needs money to pay for it, he'll have to get the approval from congress. Its simple economics.

The people said that there needed to be another balance of power (YES! limiting the power of the president) and Bush will have to work with it, or end up with unfunded projects.

The last time I looked we didn't have a dictatorship. We have checks and balances in our government for just that reason.
God, our forefathers were so smart!
