I want to go to college for Business management and open my own Beauty Salon. I am just wondering, How many years would it take to complete a Business Management Class??

And another question, how long do you have to go to Cosmetology school before you get your Cosmetology Lisence?

Another question, if I am the manager of a business, who pays me if I am paying my employees?

Your help is appreciated.

So, what is it that you want? A degree in business management, or just enough business management knowledge to run your beauty salon? There are government organizations (like the Small Business Development Center) that offers classes in business management, without the need to spend 2 years getting an associate degree or 4 years getting a bachelors.

Look in your local phone book and call a cosmetology school to ask them how long it takes to get a license.

If you're the manager of the business, you usually draw a salary out or earnings.

I feel like the Business Management field is so diverse and complicated that it is a training process daily. People are so different and you have to listen to each one and have the initiative to read between the lines of what people are truly saying. In the going to school four to six years is good. Because the field is so technically processed that all the knowledge on the new electronics and programs out their the more help you will be to your company in describing a computer problem or even a register operations problem, and able to get the correct help necessary to keep the operations constantly moving.
The cosmetology license you have to go to school I believe is for at least 2500 hours. 1 year. Then you have to take a written and theory test. Plus you have to demonstrate your skills as part of the process. Each state is different. In oklahoma it was 1500 hours plus continual education every three months or so.

I think you have to go for two years to get a degree in bussiness and you can even go to a community college for it . I don't know about cosmetology. Also, if you own the bussiness, you get all the money made except for the part you pay your employees.

I don't know how long any of the courses would require, but I can tell you that any Business Management program would require accounting classes. This would show you how to make withdrawals from your business and keep records to prevent you from getting into trouble with the IRS.
