I hope that question wasn't aimed at liberals. They'll never even be able to decipher what you were asking. They'll be scratching their heads asking what 600,000 died for what 1,000,000 slaves?

The proble is with your question because the 3,400 soldiers you are talking about are not dying to free iraqis but dying to fulfil their masters' missions because iraqi is 1000000 better off before the war than it is today.

Two seperate issues seperated by a century and a half. The short answer is that the American civil war was fought to preserve the union...the Iraq occupation has to do with who will control middle east oil. Slavery and freedom may be excellent words to use to give either war moral bent, but in the case of the current war...follow the money...not the propaganda!

Well the war in Iraq of course alot worse... we went there on LIES. No WMDs have been found. Islamic Extremism has grown because of our Occupation there.
The Civil War was faught on our own soil... the civil war was a Just Cause to fight. Slavery was wrong. And because of the war to make this land free for all people here has made America what it is today.
But now there are Lobbies like AIPAC that has the interest of Israel over the Interest of America's interest. They control our Governement and 90% of our media... Freedom of speech is now becoming not so free anymore.
Disagreeing with the policies of Israel does NOT make you a Anti-Semite.
The War in Iraq was wrong... it was based on all lies from information given to us by Israel. Because of this we will never be the same country anymore.
We are hated around the World now... long ago everyone loved America. Thanks to groups like AIPAC controlling our Government.

Anytime anyone has to die or dies in battle its sad and wrong. It should be avoided at all costs, but of course it can't be.
The American left is not crying about 3,400 lost soldiers; they are crying "for power." They want us to lose so they can gain power plain and simple.

Well, since we supposedly already freed the Iraqis 4 years ago according to Bush, your question is moot. It should be "..or 3400 dying to stop a civil war occuring in a country 3000 miles away from ours that we really can never stop, and shouldn't be any of our business?"
**and I don't advocate death in any form.
***and if you will remember, it was LIBERALS that were responsible for fighting for the end of slavery.

We KIDNAPED the slaves, We enslaved them. We created slavery here in America. Thank god there were americans that saw how inhumane it was.
Iraqis never asked us to help them. They don't want us there. They are engaged in a civil war with is par for the course in the middle....it's been going on for longer then america has been in existance.

are we referring to the American Civil War.
many, many, many soldiers died, way before freeing slaves was even a thought. not all slave owners were bad, and not all slaves wanted to be freed. it was a war of Big Govt, -vs- Little Govt. can you guess who won?

Are you truly as simple minded as to think this is an either/ or question? This question simply has no validity and I refuse to answer it in the manner it is posed.
But I'll take the 2 points anyway.
