...to see the world differently than it is?

Example : If you are afraid from something...than you won't be satisfied and in every corner you will see fear?

Yes I think it does especially in light of the Virginia Tech trajedy. Cho saw things differently because he was very ill. Most Psycopaths would fall into his category. kill & kill oneself or be killed. I have a very vivid imagination does that make my perception of the world different? Of course it does but does that make me a cold blooded killer? No we can't say one emotional state leads to another entirely different one. RIP VA TECH VICTIMS.

i wouldnt say most often differently then it really is, but it does alter our perception of reality,,,,, and helps us define what reality is,,,, only if we go overboard, does it alter reality,,,
such as you are walking down the street, its normal to fear being mugged at any moment, because the reality is you could be, these things happen very suddenly and unexpectedly,,,,
its unhealthy fear and probably not reality, to think that you have a great chance of being mugged, as the percentage of people mugged on that street is probably very small,,,,,,,,
at the same time, if you are in a dangerous area, your percentage is higher,,, and the reality is likely,,, though if your not aware of it, your reality is that you are safe
but yet, you are safe, till something happens,,, so that is real,,,,,

Absolutely! We create the external world internally. It begins in our thoughts and our preconceptions. We attract primarily what we focus on.

For example, my husband is deathly afraid of wasps and bees. In all other ways he is a regular tough man's man, kind of guy, but he can't stand the thought of wasps or bees. And he sees them EVERYWHERE. I rarely think of them or see them and when I do it's no big deal. He attracts through his focus on his fear. It's really bizarre.

Yes, I think so. But can anyone say for sure what the world is really like?

Absolutely. We are blinded by our own preconceptions. If you expect everyone to look at you like you are strange, everybody does. If you expect people to like you, more people will like you. The hard part is giving yourself posative preconceptions.
