I love all the decades of country music... but I would probably list the top three as 70's, 80's, 60's.

Randal,
George Jones, Loretta Lynn and Merle Haggard were children in the 40's. Their best years were the 70's.
The 70's were far and away the best for country, followed by the 80's.

I'd say the 70's was real country music. But I have loved different pieces of each decade. It is true that todays country is definitely more southern rockish! But hey Craig Morgan is still my man!!

80's and before. I love the Judds, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Jerry Reed. Those are just a few. I love how they used to tell stories like Johnny Cash did. Hank Williams Sr was the bomb. This new stuff they have sucks. Reba is still cool but I like her old stuff better too.

For me it was the 90's because that was when Garth Brooks,Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill were all big.

But far before i was born it was probaly the 40's that had the best country with people like George Jones,Loretta Lynn and Merle Haggard.

and Billy Ray Cyrus had them coming out to the clubs

Late 50ies and 60ies before rock wormed its way into the genre and ruined it. Country of today is just southern rock of yesterday.
