I'm a proud South African, but must admit that I only listen in on international games. How about you?

I am also guilty of watching national teams only because originally I am from the Eastern Cape.
1) We don't have a soccer team in the PSL
2) Rugby the "Southern Spears" got squashed for selfish pathetic reasons.
3)Domestic cricket? what domestic cricket ?!!?

There aren't any sports teams I feel passionate about besides the national teams.

Maybe that's the problem with SA sports there are too many of us only participating only at national level our sports administrators need to start bring families into the stadiums get more people watching at provincial level by the time the players hit National level they are use to playing under pressure.
Besides this country needs hero's people for the small ones to look up to and to allow them to dream.
I know people will start about the quoter system but the fact of the matter is that if you have all races in a team more people will watch more adverting revenue more sponsor money more money for the sport to grow even more importantly more people playing the sport which will result in stronger teams.
If you don't believe me look at cricket it is officially the secound biggest sport in SA it over took rugby at national level.
If rugby does not change their ways soon they sports like Athletics will overtake them athletics just needs better Airtime on TV and better marketing that's it because everyone loves athletics.

Hi Porgie,

I think we are doing not too bad in the rugby, look at the sharks and the Bulls performance during the Super14. I think well done boys!!!

As for cricket, I love the Titans, (the "Bulls" in cricket), they didn't perform as I wanted them to, but hey, you can't always win.... Cape Cobras as well as the Eagles were quite outstanding this year!

I think I'd say yes I am proud of the South African provincial sports teams.

Of course I support my provincial (rugby)team. I love watching the Super 14 and Currie Cup, especially since most of the teams really seems to have improved since last season. I must admit though that I don't really support domestic cricket and soccer as much.

In the 'good old days' I supported the provincial teams, but I agree with you in total - I also only tune in on International events.
