No. You couldn't There isn't enough natural resources on Earth to fuel such an engine. You would have to take a huge fraction of the Earth's metal to make an engine of epic proportions. And when you fueled the engine, the force from the rocket would just push the rocket deeper into the Earth. Not to mention that once you moved Earth a few degrees off of its orbit, the conditions on the planet would change radically. Earth would not be able to support human life, so all humans would die. Once the gravity of Mars and Earth start pulling on each other...we would crash together and both planets would probably be destroyed.

Sure.
Just move all the people to another planet, and then make sure you don't plow too hard into Mars causing an explosion.
However, I would suggest plowing Mars into Earth, because it has a more habitable ortbit and so fewer massive changes would need to be made.
However, the resources to do such a silly thing... not available. The amount of fuel you would need is beyond comprehension. And, really, wouldn't be easier just to move some of the people to mars instead of building a holding tank for them elsewhere?

maybe...
but 1st u need billions and billions of $ to fund ur project in making the biggest engine...
2nd u need to get alot of materials to build the engine...
3rd the fuels needed would be WOW
4th finding a place on earth to attach "ur engine"
lastly make planet mars stop on its orbit so that u can hit mars directly...
GOOD LUCK

No. There's a little thing called gravitational pull that would make it extremely difficult. If you did, however, manage to accomplish this feat, you would not only wipe out billions of people, but billions of flora and fauna because of massive climate changes.

it is not possible, as the engine will be a part of the "earth engine system" so any force it applies on the earth is being applied on the system and even though it will pull earth outta orbit but as soon as it comes under the influence of mars gravity everything goes boom boom

no way!!!!!!!
the acceleration of the rockets will strip the earth of it's atmosphere and not too mention the havoc that stopping the spin of the earth will cause and the stress that all this will cause to the crust of the earth.
it's too simplistic, you've not taken in to account the spin of the earth will have on your rockets and i'm not sure the amount of force required to do this.
God bless,
gabe

i concur in theory that would be possible, at least the transport. but zou would spend enormous mass of energy and there will be problem with stabilizing the new coplanet in the new orbit around the sun.
rather let the earth where it is and move humans.
