My husband has a Ford F-150, which he purchased new.
Yesterday, the engine quit after only 30,000 miles. He changes the oil every 3,000 miles, and takes very good care of his truck.
He had gotten gas about 100 miles before the "check engine" light came on, and quit a few miles later.
Could it possibly be water in the gas tank? Or would that have happened immediately?
Any advice helpful. Thank you!

Fords are infamous for sensors going out an oxygen sensor going out can cause this. It may also also be the alternator, when this fails it will runs off of the battery for a few miles then quit. Have the alternator taken off and, checked for charging capabilities. It may be covered under your warranty.

Uh.... it's a Ford F-150, it's cheaply made. That's why it's the most wildly sold truck in the U.S. It cost much less than a good truck. And people can afford it out the door but later they end up paying dearly!
