No I'm not . I think it was ridiculous and pathetic.
Ridiculous to end a mans 40 year career for three words that he apologized for.

Pathetic that anyone thinks that this was good for our nation, or that this firing will correct or help what is wrong within the Black Community as a whole.

Doubly pathetic that this BIG dialog we are supposed to have got kicked off on the Oprah show with her and the very man from CBS Bruce Gordon who fired Imus giving a FREE PASS to the record producers and rap artists.

The big moment in the show was them saying " there's a problem " for which they got a huge round of applause.

That was it , the big accountability.

The very same people who demanded Imus be fired even after apologizing.

These guys weren't apologizing.
There were no demands that people be fired, no they are artists, Russell Simmons says" they are poets."

And these guys have made millions and million and millions of dollars off of language 100x worse than what Imus said.

Ridiculous , Pathetic and Disgusting.

Well I cant speak for everyone but I am satisfied that Imus is off the air. I also doubt that the charities he raised money for are going out of business and if they did ,Imus proved he is a big idiot by not being responsible enought to realize his actions could have such a dramatic impact on the charities. FYI Sharpton has raised awareness to the bigotry and racism in america for decades contributing to the advancement of America and he also has raised money for charities that assist all children of all colors. however I think he will be remembered in a much better light than imus for his contributions to humanity. Becides his show is still on! LOL!

Al Sharpton and Don Imus, it takes a racist to know a racist, yet Sharpton is still on the air and Imus isn't. The double standard is alive and well in the USA.

It seems most of your responders are happy enough. Apparently they think there is nothing better than ending someones career over a stupid comment. Never mind that Imus apologized to all concerned..........he was sacrificed in the name of perpetuating racism.
As long as people make mountains out of molehills, the race card playing will never end, and that's just what Sharpton, Jackson and their Liberal supporters want.

BTW, I never even heard of Imus before this witch hunt started.

I think Don Imus is a jerk. His show was terrible. But I'm amazed that people living in a free country would stand by a let a few people take away the right of free speech. What he said was stupid. But we have the right to be stupid. Black Americans of all people know what Its like to not be able to use their rights. I really don't believe blacks even listen to Imus. I watched him once and thought he was going to die on air.

I'm glad he is off the air. I'd like to have talk show hosts held to certain standards. Racial slurs aside, if someone claims a fact that is blatantly false, they should be held accountable and retract those statements.

Why is it that we can hear fiction presented as fact, but we never hear about the true coverups associated with 9/11/2001?

Media clearly has a bias, and it seems devisive and it seems to favor corporate interests most of the time.

i trust that they made the right determination to fireside him. He disrespected the crew, and on condition that he's made those comments formerly, he could were fired a lengthy time period in the past. He couldn't in any respect were on the air to start with.

I think that they went too far by taking him off the air. I mean, don't get me wrong, what he said was bad, but it's not like he was the first one to do it. Rappers say this stuff all the time, but nothing ever happens to them. If you're gonna do this to one person, everybody else who says it should get the same treatment he got.
