I just found out that I am 7 weeks pregnant. My husband doesnt want the baby. He wants me to get an abortion. That is the farthest thing from my mind. How do I change his mind. I am scared he might try to leave or even put something in my food to terminate it. HELP!!!!! What do I say to him? How can I make him rethink this through. He is worried about financial issues (understandable) but that doesnt mean we have to KILL IT. He is 21 and I am 19 he says we are to young what do you think?

If you dont want to have an abortion, dont have one. (I am pro choice) If you do that because someone else wants you to, serious emotional issues might occur. That will end up one of those days that you will think of allot for the rest of your life. But do consider your husbands feelings. Its hard to raise a child especially given whats going on in the world. I also suggest counseling. I had my son when I was 20 and it is hard. At same time know that you have no idea what love truly untill you have a child. You cannot change your husband mind. It seemsthat he is aware of the changes that he both of you will have to make. This will alter your life forever. He feels how he feels, maybe his mind will change. I see it everyday. And Maybe not. But he should consider the fact that that there are no true accidents. With sex needs to be accountability and responsibility. I am very bothered by your statement of the putting things in your food. If you really think that he is capable of that. I would suggest that noy stay there. You shouldnt be somewhere where you are afraid for your/unborn childs life. I hope that you choose whats best for you. You are in my prayers.

a) I think your husband is entitled to his own emotional reaction. Anyone at that age might be scared by impending fatherhood!

b) If he is worried about financial issues, make up a budget plan to show him how everything will work out. Are you working? If not, maybe now's the time to get some work in before the baby.

c) It's always good to have a contingency plan, so to speak, in this matter. Maybe after this whole issue is finished, speak with your husband about what you'd do if it happened again, so that you are both on the same page and this type of situation won't happen again.

d) If you are really scared he's going to put something in your food, why would you consider staying with him? A man that is going to potentially poison you is not a man you should be with. I hope you're being facetious. If not, start protecting your child now and go to another home.

If he is not interested in the baby AND you fear for your baby's safety you have two choices:

1) Leave him
2) Allow the baby to have parents that can provide it with a stable and safe home - which you can not provide at this time.

If he was just scared about the responsiblity, that would be one thing, but he sounds like you fear he could do harm. You have no right to bring a child into a home where his or her well-being is at risk.

Lots are parents are "surprised" and question wanting it - but your fear of him doing harm is scary. He wouldn't be the first dad to leave. As sad as that is.

If he IS a good and loving man that is just scared, then you can get though this by sitting down, developing a plan, talking to other young parents that have done it. It will be hard, no doubt.

But do not abort. There are 1000s of wonderful loving parents that are desperate for a child - my brother & sister-in-law are just one of them.

You can't change his mind. I wouldn't bother trying. If you really want this baby don't let him change your mind or try to hurt you or the baby. If you have an abortion and you don't really want one it will haunt you forever. You can give the baby up for adoption. If he didn't want to have a child then the sex should have been protected or not at all. Financial issues is not a reason to have an abortion. Think about it, if God is blessing you with the opportunity to give life do you really think God didn't think it through. God provides you with everything you need. (including a solution to your problem)

He has to accept the fact that he has created a child and now needs to be responsible and take care of his responsibility.
He sounds extremely immature.
I applaud u for sticking to your guns about not having an abortion. It will effect u for the rest of your life.
Having a child is a huge responsibility but one that is more satisfying than anything in the world.
I honestly dont know anyone who is financially ready for a child unless they have planned for a child for many years. I hadnt planned on my child, and will be raising him alone, but I know the rewards will be amazing.
If he leaves u, u dont need him anyway. And if you think he would honestly poison you to make u miscarry, then u definately dont need to be with him. U need to leave him now and find a real man. He is nothing if he can do that to u and if he cant accept his responsibility.
I wish u luck hun. Stick to your guns and dont allow him to influence u into having an abortion. If u choose to not have the child, then consider adoption. Give some other family the oppurtunity to know the joy of being a parent. Good luck hun.

I think you and your husband need to deal with your relationship before you bring a baby into it. ( I do not mean that you should run out and get an abortion) But being afraid that he may leave you b/c of a baby, or put something in your food!!! My God, he sounds fantastic.
He also sounds very immature, you and he should go to a counselor and you should seriously consider whether you want to have a baby with him. Maybe you and the baby would be better off without him.

he obviously didn't think of his financial problems when he came inside you. Do not kill it, yes u are too young and at least ur married and are trying to make it. He will change his mind when the baby is born. If ur so concerned with ur health move in with ur parents that way nothing happens to you. It is ultimately ur decision and u know what is right. This baby will be a blessing for both of u

I am married and if your husband LOVES you, he will not leave you or try to kill the baby. Know this: if you get an abortion against your will, you will never forgive him or yourself. If you want the baby and he does not, and you fear for your safety or the baby's then you shouldn't be with this guy in the first place. I don't know how to "convince" him to want the baby-I'm sure he's wondering how to "convince" you to kill it..... good luck. There is always adoption.........
