Our company of 38 yrs is closing and many of the employees never had to write a resume,and back then no degree was needed,how can they start all over again,they are all frighten not knowing where to start.

they should all apply for welfare. people like this cant be hired anywhere.

The answer depends upon how much time they have. Are they receiving severance pay? Is there state funding available to help with retraining?

walmart. alot of companies look for the younger crowd or experience without having to hire people to old because they can be a liability on their insurance. its closet discrimination. but walmart hires alot of seniors. not glamorous but its a check.

Tell them to try putting applications in at places like McDonald's, Walmart and local grocery stores at least it's something.

You company should get them out placement service to help with the transition,
