I have a febreeze addiction, and recently came up with my own version. Ultra concentrated fabric softener in a spray bottle mixed with water. It works and smells wonderful, but I was just wondering if anyone else has any other ideas!!!

Try diluted liquid potpourri or body sprays. I've used fabric softener, too. It's cheaper and it's product I buy anyways.

Well, I guess there are many. Learn to read the ingredients of things around the house. Main ingredients are listed first and then whatever used to dilute (Water) or just add some bulk so it look like you buying something of size.
Roach-Proof powder is just Boric-Acid.
Frontline is Pyrethrin or Permethrin, I get them mixed up, but, can buy a Bottle of one or the other for what 2-3 applications of Frontline cost.
Many cleaners are just Diluted Bleach.
There many more, just learn to read those ingredients and research words you not know.
Recipes work this way too. Want to make your own Fresh Salad Dressing or Mayo? Read the ingredients.

I'm afraid frabric softener might stain your fabrics or carpet.
I think just adding a little scent to water or buying the linen sprays they have out now would be better.

You can also use Pine-Sol or a little perfume diluted with water...they also have bulk things in some stores like 'lavendar water' and whatnot that are not expensive...another way is to grow your own lavendar and then dry it and soak it in water...my mother used to do this or put the lavendar in between the sheets in the closet.

Good God! Stop buying cigarettes and beer and buy the stuff already in a spray. How bad does your house stink if you have to make up gallons?

Cat urine diluted with a good quality white wine. It smells terrible but really covers up the other smells.
