a few minutes ago I was in my living room when I heard a noise in the kitchen, so I ran in to see what it was and the lid of the bin had come off! A few days ago a number of books fell of the shelf too! On both occasions no one was in the room (I'm in alone today with the dog today, who was with me at the time) . I'm logically trying to come up with explanations as to why this happened, is it just 'vibrations from walking being carried around the house?

one of the books was Vernon God Little! After the events in the US this week I dont want to even start to think there could be a possible connection. I think i should go back to studying company options for pension schemes! It makes more sence, if possible

In the kitchen I would be observant of things like:
Bread loaves with holes in the corners....Also check in the corners of cabinets for little piles of refuse....
Could be mice..
As far as the books...
Did you put them on the shelf?
Perhaps an unsteady shelf system?
Perhaps some one put them in such a position that they were prone to fall with the slightest shutting of a door...
Eliminate the logical then you can focus on the illogical...

You can to consider and try to rationalize all materialistic explanantions but the reality is, is that you are sharing your house with entities from a different dimension. In Islam we call these entities "jinn" they're known as spirits in english. They are like us in a lot of ways but like I said they just were created differently. These spirits do live with us and from time to time they'll make themselves known, and like what you are experiencing you'll end up hearing them from time to time in the kitchen or else where in the house. They like us do eat, sleep some are evil, some are not, etc, etc...
No they're not vibrations...you're not the only one going through the same experience I think a lot of people probably have it worse but don't like to talk about it....

This could be caused by alot of things. From Evil spirits to gravity. Usually its gravity and nothing to worry about. However, I have known situations happen from the use of certain games like dungeons and dragons and the infamous board game that I can say but cannot spell lol. The one where each person puts their hand on a plastic piece and asks it questions. Anyways, it does happen!!!

only a person present in your house can answer this ? ,books dont fall off bookshelves from vibrations of walking...maybe an earthquake...not walking.you could have a spirit in your home.has any one in your family reecently passed,or someone you were veery close to passed -this could be them...have you lived in the house long, whats the history of your neighborhood, who lived in the house before you,and most important of all aside from the moving objects-do you feel a presence, cold spots,or feel like someone is watching you?

Did any of the books that fell happen to address some situation going on with you right now? That happened to me at a bookstore once. A book just fell out of nowhere and it was the perfect book for what I needed at that moment. Spooky!

I think you know the answer to your own question and what you want people to say!!
The next time something like that happens, just say out loud
' Please stop doing that!! If you want to live with me then you have to stop messing up my house!!' Or you could tell it go to go away like my friend did with the noisy ghost that kept stamping in his hallway while he sat watching tv!

It's localised "hot spots" of gravity, like the one that keeps you in bed on Monday morning when you have to get up for work.
