I have asked at the pdsa, they charge £50. they charge for preventative treatment e.g neutering, vaccinating. I will phone the rspca.

to desmond, rabbit neutering is not covered by pet insurance. dont be so quick to judge people. I found this rabbit as a stray and am now trying to do my best to help it because rescues will insist its neutered before taking it in.

if you get income support the rspca will do it for you.they deal with the government benefits like income support and job seekers allowance and have a set fee of 22 pounds to neuter a rabbit.
if you get housing benefit and council tax benefit you can go to the pdsa they only ask for a donation and don't have any fixed fees,so if you could only afford to pay 5 pounds they would accept that.unlike the rspca which fix there fees good luck

pdsa want to charge u £50!?!? i dont kno if u have one near u, but where i am theres a pets at home shop that has 'companian care' vets inside it (brilliant idea!!), when i found my rabbit we wanted to get hey spayed...just incase she did a runner! anyway, for the actual operation and the follow up medicine it cost a grant total of £40. evn got a refund on the price cuz she refused to let us giv her the medicin...luckly she didnt need it either!
hope this helped...oh, and i kno its cheaky, but do u hav a elderly relative or friend taht could pretend the rabbit is theres? pdsa do a special discount for OAP pet owners. so that £50 charge would come down loads if u could get a old person to help u out. something to do with the fact they dont like old people being alone so havin a pet is a great idea! plus...rabbits hav a strange calming effect.

I'm surprised the pdsa said no. Look in the phone book for animal charities in your area then phone around. I know there is one in Lancaster that helps towards vets fees but not sure about merseyside. I doubt very much if the rspca will help.

The pdsa helped when i had my bunny neutered. You have to be on housing benefit or income support, jobseekers etc..

But even if you are working, as long as you get housing benefit then they will help. Phone them and they will tell you the vets that they go through, cos they don't deal with all vets, then they will send you a voucher to pay for it.

There are numerous things you could do. Have a yard sale,or bake sale. You could ask for donations to the "Neuter Fund." You could even have a theme based sale that relates to the subject. For example, since the reason you want to solicit funds is to neuter your rabbit, you might want to sell cashews, almonds, and other types of nuts. You may want to use a catchy phrase, to promote the sale. How about, "Buy some nuts, so that I can get rid of some nuts."?

it cost me £63 to have my female rabbit done, and £40 to have my male one done. I'm sure there are some animal charities that help people on benefits out.
