It means you are willing to give up honor and fame for someone else's sake. It could mean that you are willing to give up anything for a person's sake actually. In fact, it sounds like you are willing to sacrifice your life to save someone else's.
I still think you should let yourself win once in a while. Giving someone else the win could make you unsuccessful on Earth because it could result in giving up a promotion for someone else :o. Remember, most goverments are ruled by meritocracy which means the person with the most skill gets the job or win because they worked har for it (I'm sure you had to excercise or wot not).
Wot you did was brave and noble though, and I honour that.
Also I just wanted to say, you remind me of the movie "Cars" by Disney Pixar, when the red car gave up his win to help someone else win. (Maybe they got the idea from watching your race).
Congrats :)
Very few people can do that.
Good Day!

I think it means you are a very sensitive person and are very aware of your place in the Universe.
There is an adage something to the effect that a man has never stood so tall, as when he bent down to help a small child. You stand very tall.

I think it just means you are a nice thoughtful person that thinks of others. You sometimes put other people above yourself. I hope you dont go to that extreme now that you are older though. It is very much taken advantage of by many people out there :)

Although it does seem selfless on your part, I feel that letting someone win when they didn't earn it would be detrimental to their spirit. If a person truly wants to help another, let them earn their wins or losses. Sometimes losing is the biggest win of all.

you looked to someone else for approval.. which at the time is what you wanted..
you didn't care about your own merit.. you wanted acceptance from teacher and her son.
i know where you were coming from.. but you needed to stand on what you did instead of what you thought that they expected of you.
i think it was really noble of you.. however it speaks a lot about the acceptance issue to me.
just my own opinion.. not mean to take away from what you did.
it was a nice gesture.

It means you're willing to give up chances for your own personal gain for others. And that you submit to authority. Or you could have just been sucking up to the teacher.

I think it was a nice but stupid thing to do. People are a competitive bunch, most of them wouldn't understand (or believe) your motive for letting the other boy win.
As for what it says about your character, you're probably a very empathetic person, not very goal oriented, impulsive and introverted.
