Feel free to check out my profile and read some of my reviews of Direct Buy for more indepth answers if you are interested. I think you will find that I am no fan of DB and yes, I am a member.
However, to answer your question, I have found DB to have as high a quality furniture and cabinetry as you could want and as low as you could want also. They DO have name brands of everything (including things like Sony electronics). We have recently bought two pieces on Stanley Furniture and have been very happy with the products.
The real problems with DB in terms of products, is their lack of selection, not lack of quality. If you want a certain style and/or quality and you can not fit into their miniscule amount of vendors, you are up a creek. And forget about the, "we can get anything or anybody (when it comes to manufacturers they don't have)." That is merely a sales line to get you in the door.
After this, the real problem with DB is the people you deal with at DB.
My advice is to stay away. You can save money at DB, but how much? Hard to tell and it depends on what kind of price tag you put on time, frustration and aggrevation, to name a few. If you are internet savvy, search and wait until a deal for what you want comes around, and I think you will feel better about yourself and your purchase.
Feel free to send me any other questions and I would be happy to answer.

This is what I have seen at other DIY websites. Direct Buy has a membership fee in the $4000 range. Each store is independently owned and operated so fees can be different. After the membership fee, you also pay for shipping of items you purchase. Should an item(s) be damaged during shipping, most members complain that the store is no help. I had a membership in the same type of club many years ago and found that the items were new, but discontinued merchandise.

it's overpriced to start.
Then you can pick between magnavox and panafonics...
No real brand names from furniture to electronics, you're better off going to Costco to get the same furniture "a seat is a seat" for the same price....
Unless you're building a new home, you'll never recoup the cost of the membership in "savings."
Go to their information seminar, but, only sign the contract if you really think you'll benefit....
