I know a Tanisha. And I'm sure there must be Tamishas out there. Ask a relative how to spell the niece's name. In your situation, there's a big difference in one letter.

I found it! It took me a while but I found the meaning and origin of one of the names!
1. Tanisha: African, Female, (meaning): Monday's Child
Tamisha's meaning is nowhere to be found. Each search comes back : 0 seaches found
But with that said, I don't think that meanings mean anything anymore. Parents are naming their children names that they really like or feel connected to. Just love your niece (what ever her name is) without wondering what her name means. She'll still be your neice whether her name is "Tamisha", "Tanisha", or "Tree". Congrats on your new niece!

I think tanisha is better than tamisha.
Anyway, I dont think it matters whether it's a real name or not, as long as you like it.

In the school where I used to work there was a girl called T'nisha and I always felt sorry for her. Not only did she have an unusual name (nothing wrong with that I guess) but she had to learn that it was spelled with an apostrophe.
It's quite a pretty name but I prefer it with the "a" rather than the apostrophe.
