I want to know the names of Indian crickets who had self-respect, esteem, dignity and courage to announce their retirement when they were at their best or had just reached their best and later announced their retirement before being criticized by public for losing the rhythm or poor performance.

Yes Vishwanath & Gavaskar had retired decently, but not at the peak of their carrears.

One should retire when people would say, WHY ARE YOU RETIRING. Rather then people say WHEN ARE U RETIRING.

I do not think that any Indian cricketer has declared his retirement when he was in peak form.

I am not sure about pas.. but Anil Kumble did this year as ODI.He is the best among the current players in Indian Team.

I think there is no one who retired at the peak of his career.At least some quit the moment they realised their time was up.
