Of course not.

"Separation of church and state" is not a law.

No. The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion not freedom from religion. The president and anyone else regardless of their position in the government has every right to express his own religion. The Constitution only forbids the establishment of any one religion as the national religion or mandate that one must have a religion.

The term "Separation of Church and State" does not appear anywhere in the Constitution. It only appears in a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to a pastor in Connecticut while giving his own opinion about an issue. It is not law.

If you think about it, does freedom of speech mean you may not speak publicly to people who hold a different viewpoint? Does freedom of the press mean you many not publish what others do not want to read? Then how can freedom of religion mean you may only express religion to others with the same religious beliefs?

Its not illegal, the constitution only mentions separation of church and state in the sense that the US can't start a religion where the president is the spiritual leader. This was done to make sure nothing like the Church of England started in the US.

You were guaranteed freedom of religion not freedom from religion

Separation of church and state doesn't mean that God can never be mentioned by a candidate. The thing people on the left always seem to forget is that freedom of speech does cover even political speech.

Are you kidding me? The First Amendment was never designed to totally forbid anyone in the government mentioning God; it was designed to allow for freedom of religious expression and to not allow for one state religion, as exists in England, France, etc.

By the way, the President is technically always working on government time.

No, that was put in to make sure that we did not have a "state religion" like the Church of England was formed as. Did you notice that all our money has the words "In God We Trust" printed on it? The senate and house of representatives in addition to the all branches of the military all have chaplains. the services go as far as to have them for all faiths, even Islam!

Why would it be illegal? God has been used in every Presidents speech since the beginning of this country. It's even on our money. This country was founded on Judea Christian beliefs. Take your secularist attitude to Moscow if you want that kind of separation.

No. It is illegal for the government to pass any laws regarding religion. There is no law the those in office must deny God.

This country was built on God as a foundation and without God, it's only gonna get worse. some people jut need to accept that the US was set up on a Godly principle, people like you wonder why this world is so messed up. Let's go cry our eyes out cause we heard someone talk about something we don't believe in, please, if you don't wanna believe in God then stop listening or go live in a society that believes in Satan or whatever you believe in. This is America not hell, you wanna go to hell where you'll never hear about God, you know how to get there.
It's people like yourself who helped create the world we live in today..a Godless society where people have to be in fear of sending their children to school, or even going to work, because some Godless person may be there to shoot them or bomb their place of business in a terrorist act. This world is pretty close to hell and people like yourself are encouraging dragging it down more.
You take God out of schools and you reap what you sow..you take God out of Govenment then you reap what yo sow, but just remember one day all will see him and know he is real, then it will be those who are repenting for ther evil ways, but then it'll be too late.

Can you cite the part in the constitution you are referring to? I have read it several times and see it as anyone has the right to choose their own religion, not that you can deny people religion?

Is that it, you just want to deny rights to others?

We have free speech, even the President. Saying "God Bless America" doesn't establish a state religion nor infringe religious liberty.

It does disgust me, tho, to hear our politicians either still believe such medieval nonsense or are pandering to those who do.
