the loudest animal in the zoo and why?

Blue-whale. It can be heard half way across the globe. Really. But then again...not many zoo's have them.

The one that is the loudest in an actual zoo are howler monkeys. They are the ones you hear when you are not even close to the zoo.

Not sure to answer your why question.....If I had a zoo I would only put quiet animals in it...why someone would want loud animals is a big question to me too. :)

Blue whales' low-frequency pulses are as loud as 188 decibels—louder than a jet engine—and can be detected more than 500 miles away. On land, the loudest animals are howler monkeys, whose howl can be heard three miles away.
