It was since the beginning of time I thought. God says "There are no other gods before me". He says He is the one and only. The other gods that people claim exist, don't, so it never needed to be reduced to what it has always been.

There is only one true supreme God, but lots of "gods". The scriptures even call Satan a god, and men make many things a god to themselves. So, yes, in that sense I believe they should and will be reduced to one in the near future.

Lots of people have been thinking that for thousands of years, and have been trying to convince the others their god is enough with rational arguments such as swords, arrows, wars, terror, genocides....
