the Bible/Torah?

Where is the parting of sea's?
Where are the burning bushes with God's voice?
Where are the virgin births?
Where are the all the things that gave people written about in the Bible/Torah so much evidence in the form of powerful miralces?
Has God lost his magic?
Is God dead?
Is he taking a nap?
Why is it that all the great stories in the Bible/Torah of the great works of God seem to end when the story ends?

First answer seems to just further show how interestingly convenient religion has made the entire belief system depend on convenient absence through written stories.

Because religion hides the fact that Biblical people had little understanding of what went on in the World that they lived in. If they experienced an eclipse they would say that the sun vanished and then they prayed and God made the sun come back. What a miracle!

Jesus did not work miracles too often because in themselves they do not constitute faith and also because it is human nature to want the sensationalism of miracles, He also complained that this was all people wanted rather than to listen to the word of God which is the truth.
Miracles have their place and certainly they were important in kick starting the infant church, but as scripture tells us,`Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God``
Of course if the world had a true collective faith in God we would witness more frequent miracles as and when God saw fit, Jesus complained too that in some towns He could not work miracles because of the lack of faith.

Well if u read the bible most of miracles are done after people ask GOD.GOD just wont sit there and show his awesome power always unless people ask for it.If GOD wants to he could right now send angels flying the sky that would lead everyone to GOD.But GOD gave man a choice if u ask GOD u will do might miracles just as in old days.If u dont it wont happen. But miracles do happen today too if u look around.check out www.cbn.com and then 700 club.Who knows GOD might want to use u too to be a miracle to someonelse ? want too?

"For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoso ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life".Make JESUS ur saviour ask him to forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past.

The greatest miracle as one prophect of GOD says in a man life is to get saved.

Perhaps it is like the bible says, that god will not answer when the world starts going down hill. It says that when people start asking God to prove himself he will not, because it would be real easy to believe in him if he jumped out and said over here!. It is a test of faith. You don't have to believe in it, but why try to make others not believe? I see miracles everyday, perhaps people have just stop seeing them. I see people who survive cancer, people who love each other, people who pull through the most horrible things. I think it is great that you believe what you do, but don't try to make others not believe. You are very clever, you have shown yourself that God , in your eyes, isn't real, so leave everyone else alone. A clever person like yourself shouldn't be concerned with trying to prove his point to others.

Although I myself am not religious (I'm agnostic), I wouldn't recommend trying to convince the religious out there. There just isn't a way to convince people out of the irrationality of faith based religion.

My parents are very religious and I have been going to Christian churches for years, until I finally broke free in college. All through those years, I just never understood it and couldn't blindly follow the religion as some people did.

So all in all, what I'm trying to say is that they'll believe no matter what. It's embedded in their hearts and no amount of evidence against what they truly believe will sway them. It's their God of wonders, after all, and he has his own reasons for doing whatever it is he does.

Trust me, I've tried. The best thing to do is to keep quiet. =/
