(Rep of Turkey) does anybody know this as first hand?
Is it true that only ‘neutral’ languages like English, German etc are permitted in Turkey?
Is it true that languages of neighbouring nations like Greek, Bulgarian, Armenian etc are forbidden in Turkey?
How strict is legislation about it?

Turks do not want to hear the languages of their enemies especially Greek and it is the reason that languages offensive to them are not tolerated in their country for fear of being infiltrated.

You can speak any language you want but only about 2% know English and since many people get influenced by other languages and most people don't like that. You can only in specific modern places can you talk your native language but there is no strict legislation people just wont understand you
