Genesis 3:6 NIV
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."
11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"

In fact it is not the prohibition that concerns there in those verses in the bible but it is the committed sin of Eve and Adam to have disobeyed God from his orders or law which He give to Adam and Eve.

Inspite of the fact that they were given warnings, they did not think of God to obey his law for themSo for disobeying Him, they were punished .

As God who is powerful, He knew that Adam and Eve disobeyed him however He w as testing them when He asked them of what happened to them whether they will lie or not but they not not lie and told the truth to God, so God said to them . For not obeying me, I will punish you for >>>>>>>>>>>>.(the pnunishment)

There was nothing essentially evil about the tree or the fruit of the tree. It is unlikely that eating the fruit truly gave Adam and Eve any further knowledge. It was the act of disobedience that opened Adam and Eve’s eyes to evil. Their sin of disobeying God brought sin and evil into the world and into their lives. Eating the fruit, as an act of disobedience against God, was what gave Adam and Eve knowledge of evil. Genesis 3:6-7, “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”

We all have a conscious. But there is a difference between a moral conscious and a sin conscious.
We were born with a moral conscious and learn what is right and what is wrong. We may do something we know is wrong and feel bad about it or hate that we did it but God's spirit gives us a Sin conscious.
This is when we know by conviction that we have done wrong in God's eyes and He lets us know it. This is when we Have to repent and be sorrowful for what we have done against God.
As soon a Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, they had sinned against God, therefore their eyes were open for the first time and they felt conviction. They knew they had done something to be ashamed of. They disobeyed God.
Up till that point, they knew no sin and were perfect in God's eyes.
Hope this helps
God Bless

I believe that the "fruit" was sex. They had sex, became unlike children, and had knowledge of there bodies. I think that is the point in which they matured, and became aware of themselves, just as a child becomes aware of themselves, and aware of there actions. I think that the bible was written in alot of metaphors, because the people back then would not have understood alot of the ideas that we comprehend now. I think that we all are in the garden of Eden as children, and then we become aware of ourselves, and our action, being able to choose to do good things or bad things.

I can't believe how many times I've said this today. The story of Adam and Eve is a symbol, it isn't necesarilly true. In fact, everything in the Bible is symbolism save for the history. (ie. Moses and the fall of Egypt, Jesus, etc.)

Somethign very interesting..The story of Moses and the miracles was recorded in ancient Egyptian history.

D.M, excuse me for not answering your question. Would you clarify something for me. upon visiting your website I notice many references to a five part ministry. Since Jesus ministry clearly had 4 parts according to Matthew 3:23, where have you come up with a fifth part from? You wouldn't guilty of putting words in GOD'S mouth would you?

Sin consciousness is being aware of having committed sin and feeling so guilty about it that it nags at your conscience. Once you become aware of your sin, you truly repent of your sin, seek forgiveness and once you are forgiven, do your best to amend your life so that you don't commit that sin again.
