The broad scope of religions tends to be confusing, so congratulations, you're doing well. :-)
Religion is a powerful psychological and societal force. Organizing to help each other live ethically is a great idea. The problems come when some people decide to dictate to others what that means.
Are you inclined to study? There's a lot of great stuff written on the subject. Try sitting in on an Intro to Religious Studies at your local college or university.
Don't worry about understanding it all. It's a fascinating area to explore, and one that's important both historically and for the world we live in now. Enjoy it.

I'd like to help answer your question but I don't want to come across as biased.
Religion is just that...religion. Just rituals...that have no meaning...its selfish. Makes a person look good. Even if on the inside they are not all that good as they seem.
I think thats why what matters most is a relationship with God.
Acknowledging that there is a God...that he created all. "Talk" to him (though Im still trying to understand that part myself)...
Now...here is where I may seem a bit for one "religion" over the others. I believe, even with my confusions, I mean everyone has their confusions about things. But I believe that Christianity is right. NOT the religious part of it. But the loving others, Jesus died for us, God loves us part. I think Christianity in its true and pure form has been so lost over years and years....so its hard to find. But I think if we put aside "religion" and rituals....we will find that there is a God.
This is a Poem I wrote a year ago, perhaps you would like to read it =)
Losing my Religion
I am losing my religion,
on a quest to be more kind.
God accepts everyone,
the poor, the sick, the blind.
Being religious won't help anybody,
but loving them will.
So today I'm going to be undone
by all my heartless rituals.
If I see a poor man out on the street,
instead of passing him by,
I will ask him if he wants something to eat.
If someone is feeling lonely,
and they just want to cry,
I will be there for them
right by their side.
Religion won't help anyone,
except my selfish pride.
All I need is faith
and kindness will abide.

You need to answer the questions if Jesus really was God. You have to believe before it works. Going to Church doesn't make you a Christian. A Church is a gathering of 2 or more people worshiping God.
Organized religion, Christian, Muslim, all of them, are not good. The Christians serve a purpose by introducing people to God. But, they are run by man, and are Corruptible. A lot of Churches just worry about passing the plate. That's what really turned me off. Saying they needed to pave the parking lot for the last 20 years, and its still gravel.
So Basically, you can worship without a church. Just get an understanding, look at the Bible with an open mind, and it will prove itself. I listen to some sermons on the Internet that are very useful to help you understand. Good luck

People's religion is simply an accident of birth. What you feel is a need for something. It may be love or it may be philosophy. I say read and read and never stop. Think and question and never stop. By reading and questioning, then you will end up with the truth.
Tariq Ali, Noam Chomsky, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris, Thomas Paine, Robert Ingersoll these authors all make the world that much clearer. You will agree and disagree with each, but look at the evidence they provide for their conclusions and make your own mind up about issues.
If you don't read and question, then a religion based on simplistic black and white, answers is what you are really looking for. It is easier to be religious, but a hell of a lot more liberating to be free from it.

I could tell you the truth about religion but I don't know if you would believe faith is an important part of our life because we were created with a need to be in God's knowledge so we have a spiritual need we do have proof but many choose to ignore it. there is also reasons why there are so many religions firstly it is because people want to mold religion to their own wishes instead of molding their ways to God's requirementsthen there is also an enemy of God who wishes to take the worship of humans away from God and have it for himself and he has been instigating to form many religions that in reality he is the god of(2Corinthians4:4)People are criticized or mocked when they get too close to the truth since the advesarry of God does not want anyone to hear the truth about God but to believe him instead, and therefore when the people who know the truth of God are shining too brightly for this advessary, so incase too many people might see the truth, he will throw some doubt onto true followers of God. Just like Jesus said, his disciples would suffer persecution, they are getting persecuted(John15:20).

If you pray to God (or the mental address "God" but is nothing because you don't believe in the spiritual world) then He'll give you a sign. Or don't. I can't force you, but it's worth a shot isn't it?
I've had signs but no point in sharing cause no one would believe me. I wouldn't :P
edit: Interesting. Everyone is leaping on the undecided. I see an agnostic, an athiest, and "Sahaga Yoga"

Dear Nick,
Have you ever felt good and rlaxed in the most defficult and critical moments ?
Have you ever felt comfortable thoug you see such a contradictd life around you because you know your way and see your destination ?
That`s what religion about Nick....
The way that keeps you in touch with god ... The one who will forever loves and protects you because you are his own creature ... He has made every inch of you .
I have been lost as you are now but i started to look around me asking myself ( It cannot be that everything around us is going by it`s own... There must be someone who manages that world and us ... our fates ... our life happenings ... our ends ... )
That`s why you see too many deffirent people ... deffirent origins ... difirrent tongues... diffirent culturs ... different colors ...but they all have their ways to get closer to GOD .
Try to feel that ....

-False Religions-
"For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect." -Mark 13:22
Religion is the WORST thing that has ever happened to this world; Countless Billions of souls have been doomed to hell by false religion. Learn what the Bible has to say on the matter. We expose many false religions...not to be unkind...but because the truth has been hidden from the world's masses. Just remember, religion didn't die on the cross for you.

The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values
However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.
The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.
This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.
There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an. However, in the case of the Bible, even the most ancient manuscripts conflict with one another so that no two are identical. Footnotes in all modern versions of the Bible prove this fact.
These revisions serve as concrete proofs that all the Biblical books are not at all divinely inspired. This is because it is beyond man's ability to correct the work of his Creator, who alone is Almighty and perfect
It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.
Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.
The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.
As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86).
The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."
you can do that now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is
I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.
The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.
I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach

Don't worry your not alone :)
I was/still am the same way.
And I'm sorry but it doesn't get easier, if anything it gets harder, to the point that you want to cry because you just can't believe anything.
I want to believe in God, but i can't accept anything on blind faith, it is just impossible for me.
Good luck!
