Yes to both. Caffeine, a drug found in coffee, is a stimulant that can effect the central nervous system causing nervousness and insomnia amongst other things. It is also a diuretic, a drug that causes the kidneys to produce more urine. Caffeine is highly addictive and long term use can cause a number of physical conditions including peptic ulcers, heart palpitations and sleep disorders. So go easy on the coffee! You shouldn't have more than one or two cups a day and preferably in the morning.

Coffee affects everyone differently. It can cause nervousness due to the caffeine and can act as a diuretic also. I would not recommend drinking coffee at bedtime if you need a good night sleep.
