I did a lot of weight training up until a few years ago when due to an injury I had to stop but I remember well when I first started I was sore and tender for 2 weeks, if you are training for mass and bulk then you need to do slow reps and keep them around 8-10reps for 4 sets and increase the weight as you get used to it.
The aches will go away in a short while as your body will learn to recover from a hard session, but a trainer is always much better than doing this alone.

Actually you are ok to do some more weight. However you may want to do a different muscle group than the one you did friday. When you workout again you will notice that your muscles will hurt less and less. It is normal to hurt the first few times you go to the gym, even when you go back after anything more than one month.

A good protein shake and some L-Glutamine would have helped you... but yes.. it is OK... three times a week is the old story, but these days people seem to be training every day.. working through the muscle fatigue. If you have just started out... then I highly recommend three times per week and do cardio training on the days in between if you feel up to it. Well done Ace. A Healthy mind requires a healthy body.

It should be fine, but take it easy. Do lighter weights than you usually do, and cut down the repetitions. For example, if you usually do 3 sets of 15, do 2 sets of 8. If you get sharp pains, and feel like your muscles are going to tear again, stop. You don't want to injure yourself any more (and have to spend a long time skipping the gym to heal yourself). It's always better to be safe, than sorry. Good luck!

No, wait a couple of days and be sure to use ice packs on your muscles and any anti-inflammatory pills or creams. If you do weights now, you are at a much higher risk for muscle tearing, which will only keep you out of it so much longer!

Yes it's okay, it will probably even ease the pain a little since friday(the third day is generally the most painful). Also, keep yourself well hydrated (lots of water), it will help to flush the lactic acid from your muscle tissue which is the primary source of your pain. No pain, no gain.

Not on the sore muscles no. Work a different group of muscles, and since this is the R&S section; God bless you.
